A Complete package developed by Vinzas Solutions India Private Limited capable of generating chain component drawings, dimensions, assembly drawings with Title blocks and part list with parametric input from designers.
Project title:
Automation of Component and Assembly Drawing Generation for a Chain Manufacturer
Project description:
This project is for a leading manufacturer of industrial and automotive chains. There are different classifications of chains and similar types of chains may have different dimensions depending on the requirement and client. Moreover the chains have multiple strands, the number which also varies. For this we developed a software, which will reduce the lead-time for manufacture.
The software application automates the following tasks.
The software uses GUI forms, which displays the types of components and chain assemblies. The user has to select the required drawing from the display. Once selected, the interface form will display the appropriate dimensional parameters that have to be filled by the user. Once completed, drawings will be generated in CAD including Title Block, Border, and other as listed above. The weight calculations are also done automatically and the result is stored in the database.
Whatever information fed by the user will be stored in database. This is extremely useful in case of later date revisions, reference, or corrections. Since the data is available, if the same drawing needs to be referred, the data can be retrieved from the database and hence the user need not provide the information, which already exists. Thus the software has excellent data management capabilities. In case of revisions, appreciable time is saved, as the user will have to modify the required parameters only. The revised information is updated in the database. The software also provides the option of saving the generated drawing files.
Post implementation studies show that the process time has been reduced drastic-ally when compared with the manual process. More over operational barriers due to human error has been zeroed entirely.
